DESCRIPTION:Ardmore Airport was established in 1943 at the request of the U
 S Airforce as an operational base during WWII. Although construction was n
 ot completed until 1945\, the Airport served as an important base for trai
 ning New Zealand pilots for action in the Pacific\, and as a training cent
 re for returning servicemen\, as part of the demobilization effort after t
 he war.\n\nThis will be a spectacular base for the Easter Rally\, with its
  military history\, current aircraft restoration work and displays. It is 
 also convenient for those arriving from the south\, as they will not have
